Overview

OP-456-61 is a practice based course giving you the skills needed to install, test and troubleshoot a fibre link, If you are starting out in fibre or needing to up-skill, this is the best fibre course. Our courses are delivered at our office in Clydebank near Glasgow but we do run courses in other locations and have delivered public courses in Aberdeen, Basildon, Carlisle, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Peterborough, Cardiff and Reading and company specific courses all over the UK.

Background

Fibre Training Course OP-456-61 is Industry based on best practices in telecom, datacom, FTTX, offshore and renewables. It is intense and comprehensive and consists of 24 practical modules on splicing, jointing, testing, and troubleshooting of fibre networks. You use the best quality splicing machines from Fujikura and UCL Swift and test equipment from Anritsu and Grandway during the course.

What you will Learn

In nine hours of hands-on splicing you will make an in-line joint, a patch panel and a fibre wall box. You will learn how to get the best out of the splicer and cleaver and how to maintain the equipment and tools. In seven hours of testing with an OTDR, optical source and meter, visible light source, you will commission, and troubleshoot a variety of fibre networks. Finally you will inspect and clean connectors and terminate them directly on onto cables using the latest splice on Fusion and Mechanical connectors.
